Brent Dauphin, MSTCM, L.Ac.
Brent Dauphin, L.Ac, MSTCM, is a California Board licensed acupuncturist and herbalist. He received his Master’s of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University where he completed over 3,200 hours of comprehensive clinical and theoretical training. After his third year at Five Branches Brent traveled to Hangzhou, China to study at Zhejiang University where he was able to observe TCM being used in the hospitals of the area. Brent also holds an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of California at San Diego.
Brent specializes in pain management. He has advanced training in sports medicine, orthopedics, post-operative recovery and tuina (pronounced “tweenah”, a form of Chinese massage Brent uses in conjunction with acupuncture when treating pain). Brent works in direct contact with bay area medical doctors to arrange complete care for his patients. In addition to these specialties, Brent and his partner Megan both hold a special interest in Chinese herbal medicine and utilize it with the majority of their patients.
Megan Dauphin, L.Ac, MSTCM
Megan Dauphin, L.Ac, MSTCM, is a California board certified acupuncturist and herbalist. She received her Master’s of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University where she completed over 3,200 hours of comprehensive clinical and theoretical training. After her second year at Five Branches Megan traveled to Hangzhou, China to study at Zhejiang University where she was able to observe TCM being used in the hospitals of the area. Megan also holds degrees in philosophy and psychology from the University of Oregon.
Megan has advanced training in the treatment of infertility, women’s health, menopausal symptoms, and nutrition. She is dedicated to arranging complete care for her patients through direct contact with medical doctors and other complementary medical practitioners in the bay area. In addition to these specialties, Megan and her partner Brent both hold a special interest in Chinese herbal medicine and utilize it with the majority of their patients.
Brent and Megan first experienced the benefits of Chinese Medicine through their own success from receiving regular acupuncture treatments. After witnessing the health benefits of acupuncture, they became committed to learning the medicine, and helping others discover it. Today Brent and Megan run Revive Acupuncture where they are devoted to helping patients live healthy, balanced, and pain-free lives.
Vladi Starkov L.Ac.
Vladi Starkov L.Ac. comes from a lineage of women healers in Bulgaria. From an early age she was fascinated by her grandmother's stories about herbs, healing, and medicine. She always knew this was her calling, but it wasn't until her teens when she began pursuing interest in Chinese Medicine, Eastern Philosophy, meditation and Yoga. While in college at Boston University pursuing her BA in Anthropology, she took her first Chinese Medicine class and started seeing an acupuncturist regularly, and was instantly intrigued by the holistic way this medicine encompassed the entire human being.
She has since had more than 3200 hours of academic and clinical training in Chinese Medicine theory, Western Medicine, Acupuncture, Herbology, Medical Qigong, and Nutrition at Five Branches University. While at the Five Branches University clinic internship Vladi had wonderful success treating diverse pain conditions, menopause, emotional problems, PMS, fertility, and many others. Her specialty and interest is in Women's Health and is currently pursuing intensives in fertility.
Vladi is currently enrolled in a Doctorate Program at the International Institute of Medical Qigong, and will be earning her DMQ (Doctor of Medical Qigong) in early 2012. She has had the greatest honor to be a student of renowned Dr. Jerry Alan Johnson in his Taoist mysticism, Medical Qigong and TaiJi classes for the last few years. She is also a Certified Massage Therapist, with specialties in Asian Bodywork, namely Shiatsu, Lotus Hands, and Ayurvedic massage.
She currently lives in beautiful Santa Cruz and enjoys hiking, dancing, singing with the women's choir, 'Yalalati', meditating, doing Yoga, Qigong and Taiji, studying Buddhism, traveling internationally, and growing.
